Pre-admission guidelines for fresh applicants:
1. Admissions to BS/Masters will be announced in the 2nd or 3rd week of June.
2. Admissions to M.Phil/Ph.D will be offered in the first week of July.
3. Admission forms will be available on University website i.e.www.qau.edu.pk. You can download the form in Pdf format.
4. You will be required to attach a demand draft of Rs.2000/- in favor of Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Without demand draft, your application will not be entertained.
5. In case of MSc/BS, Complete (in all respect) forms can be sent to the Assistant Registrar (Admissions), Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad through a registered post or in person submit in the admission office located on the back side of Central Library.
6. In case of M.Phil/Ph.D, Complete (in all respect) forms can be sent to the Head of Concerned Department, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad through registered post or submit in person in the office of concerned department.
7. Details of Entry tests (selected departments), details of merit list to be displayed with dates, will be updated on University website.
8. In case of previous merit record or any test query you are required to contact the concerned department in which you are interested to apply for. A complete directory of Telephone Intercoms is available inwww.qau.edu.pk/downloads. You simply need to download the Intercom Directory. Before dialing any 4 digit number, you will be required to dial “9064”. For example for admissions office: 051-9064-4062, For Registrar office 051-9064-4046 etc.
9. For MSc/BS, on a single admission form you can apply for a maximum of 3 departments. For example if you want to apply for Mathematics, Statistics and Geo Physics you will fill the form as follows:
Math: Regular
Math: Self Finance
Statistics: Regular
Statistics: Self Finance
Geo Physics: Regular
Geo Physics: Self Finance
10. The order of your priorities will be a key point over here. If you are selected on your FIRST priority, whether you join or not, you will not be considered on any of the other priorities in the upcoming lists. Furthermore, if you are selected on any of the down priority and you join too and later on your name appears on the first priority than you must have to go back to your first priority. BUT if you are not interested to go back, and both the departments have no issues with that (approval from HoDs of both departments), you can stay there. So, be careful while selecting the departments and their orders in filling the form.
11. For M.Phil/Ph.D, on a single demand draft, you can apply in a single department only. For applying in more than one department, you will be required to furnish a separate demand draft for each department and separate admission forms as well.
12. If you have opted both REGULAR and SELF-FINANCE but you are selected on Self Finance in the prior list, you are advised to join at Self Finance. Later on, if your name appears on REGULAR, your extra dues will be refunded to you.
13. Total Number of seats in each department are the same as appeared in the First merit List.
14. If a seat remains vacant i.e. the selected candidate do not join the department during the deadline, the seat automatically falls to the next merit list. For example, Balochistan has 2 seats, both are filled in the first list, than Balochistan quota will not appear in the upcoming list but if any one or both the seats remain vacant, than the seats will appear once again in the next list accordingly and so on.
15. Any request for changing or re-arranging the priorities will not be entertained right after the date of submission of forms.
16. In case, you have higher merit on your first priority but your name is not selected in the list and people down the merit are there, you must visit in person to the admission office situated on back side of Central Library.
17. No one can judge the final merit of any program, so, I suggest you people to not come in the rumors. Wait for your merit in the lists.
18. Admissions on special quotas like Army Quota, Disable Quota, Employees Quota & sports quota etc. are not mentioned in the lists uploaded on web. People applying on such quotas, approach admission office in person for confirmation of their seats.
19. You have to apply for Hostel Accommodation after joining in the department. Hostel forms will be available from Hostel number 6 (free of cost). Hostel dues are not included in the dues details mentioned in the merit lists.
20. Result Awaiting students can also apply subject to the following conditions:
i). They will pay an additional amount of Rs. 1000/- as a late fee charges.
ii). They will have to submit the result in admission office on or before the Day of display of Merit List.
